10th September 2020 UN-WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY 2020

The Association of Christian Counsellors of Nigeria marked the UN World Suicide Prevention Day 10^th September 2020. Banners were printed and distributed to create awareness of ‘SAY NO TO SUICIDE’. We in the association honour and celebrate life and mourn the loss of a life.

We had special awareness among various working groups in Jos, the Plateau State capital and in the afternoon joined in an international virtual Webinar in Abuja, the nation’s capital on suicide prevention organized by the Association of Christian Counsellors of Nigeria, SunTrust Bank, and Secure D Future Initiative International to commemorate the UN Day 2020. Webinar papers were presented on Suicide, Suicide Prevention, and Helping the Survivor. Speakers from Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa while the audience connected from many countries in Africa. The association Rep presented a paper on; ‘The Importance of the Counsellor in Suicide Prevention’ and later, on ‘The Importance of the Counsellor to the Survivor’
