58th Session of the Commission for Social Development – CSocD58

The Association of Christian Counsellors of Nigeria participated actively at the 58th Session of the Commission for Social Development – CSocD58 in New York, USA which took place from 10 Feb 2020 to 19 Feb 2020. It also marked the 75th anniversary of the UN. Various government representatives and organizations from around the world gave reports on their efforts at realizing the UN goal of combating homelessness by 2030 among others. We were represented at the UN summit by the president Rev. Dr. Ronald King (Registrant ID: 106). The association contributed to discussions and made valid oral presentation during the discussion on Inclusiveness and Housing for all by 2030.  Our time also came as NGOs for questions and contributions. The Association of Christian Counsellors of Nigeria was given the opportunity for oral presentation on the issue of homelessness and we were specific, loud and clear that tackling insecurity will undoubtedly help in tackling homelessness globally. To address the issue of insecurity and homelessness we called for collaboration between the different arms of the UN to articulate solutions to insecurity as a major step towards solving the problems of homelessness. This contribution was documented during this session. We also attended approved events and the Habitat sessions.
